Safety and Security

  • Summary

This FAQ addresses protections we provide to our members in an effort to make our dating sites as safe as we can.  Read our "Privacy Policy" to learn details about what we're asking you to provide, what information we need, what we retain, what we share with others and who they are, and how your information is protected.

While other dating sites claim to offer greater safety for their members, their actual practice will frequently not bear this out.  For Quigley properties?  The safety and security of our members is a top priority.

    • Each member helps us provide a higher level of safety and security by allowing us to obtain a full identity through our "Verified ID" program (more fully described in thesr FAQs).  Fully identifying each member helps provide greater protection for all our other members. That's because we know you are who you say you are.
    • Each time you visit any website on the 'net, that website identifies your location by capturing your IP address. We capture the same information to help identify You by identifying your computer's location.  That's the beginning of our identification process.
    • When visitors to one of Quigley's properties decide to Join the Quest, they fill out a short Questionnaire and provide personal information about themselves, including real names, actual phone numbers,  email addresses, dates of birth and general locations, as well as a bit of information about interests, likes and dislikes, etc.   This self-reporting begins our 'honest' relationship.
    • If the self-reported location doesn't match the location of the IP address, our software notes the discrepancy and then asks that prospective member to confirm their location. If the location they provide still doesn't match their IP address, we take additional steps at verification, including a personal call.
    • Some people choose to use a VPN. If our software identifies the use of a VPN, we require users to turn it off so we can more accurately obtain their computer's actual identity and location. Use of a VPN is not necessarily sinister. It can help provide a more direct route to certain internet networks, and can help block 'cookies' that are used (among other things) to capture personal information and spending habits. By blocking cookies, users help protect their privacy and what they choose to do in life. After all, that's no on else's business unless we agree to share it.
    • New members are asked to upload a photo to use as a 'profile photo'.  Not only does that give other members a chance to see how great looking you are, but it gives us an image to help us further confirm your identity.
    • Members are asked to upload 5 additional self-images that can be displayed on the member's public profile page. Consistency of those photos  confirms that they're all the same person, further verifying that person's identity.
    • Members are strongly encouraged to use our Facial Recognition for log-in. We'll even offer incentives to do so. Our Facial Recognition uses your web-cam to capture your facial features from several different angles. That data is stored in our database and matched to your name.
    • Our software is 99% effective in matching you to your photo. If you match, you're instantly logged in. If there's no match, you'll be asked to use the conventional method of Username and Password.
    • Not only does our Facial Recognition recognize That Face as being Your Face, but it can also identify your gender. So you can't be sneaky. If you're not heterosexual, we suggest you sail over to Quigley Island, our resort for LGBTQ.
    • We also have our own "Verified ID" program that members are encouraged to join. This Free program confirms you are who you say you are through a variety of additional steps.
    • When you Join the Quest at any Quigley property, we ask for certain personal information, including your real name, phone number, email address, date of birth and general location, as well as certain information about your interests, likes and dislikes, etc. That becomes your Private Profile.
    • From that, we then create a Public Profile which will include your username, profile photo, links to your public photos and public video, and facts gleaned from your "About Me" Questionnaire, as well as a link to your Private Vaults.
    • Your Username will be seen by other members on your Public Profile and anywhere else your Profile photo appears so other members can find you.
    • Your approximate age and general location will be seen by other members, but we do not divulge your real name, email address, phone number or date of birth to any other member.
    • Members are strongly discouraged from sharing any of those personal identifiers with any other member.
    • We encourage all members to complete the short "About Me" Questionnaire so other members can know who you are, what you like, what turns you on...and off, etc. Answers to the Questionnaire are summarized and placed on your Profile
    • If you're randomly selected or pay the nominal fee to be placed on The Wheel, or if you agree and we use you in marketing our website, your username will be displayed.
    • We use all this information to verify your identity. Knowing that "you are who you say you are" is of paramount importance in helping keep all members safe.
